Marc Anctil, Logiball
Marc Anctil has been with Logiball since 1994 and currently serves as president. Originally involved in sales of test & seal packers & pipe plugs, Marc slowly moved into the design & fabrication of test & seal packers and eventually product line manager. He has been involved with the development of ASTM standard practices for application of chemical grouts for infiltration control in sewers, has given numerous presentations on the subject, and has participated actively in NASSCO (National Association of Sewer Service Companies) as committee, chair, Board member and past President. He is a founding member of ICGA (Infiltration Control Grouting Association), co-recipient of the Most Innovative Product Award 1998 (NASTT) and 1999 WEF Collection system most innovative product award. Marc has also actively participated in the Aries Grout Boot Camp, training more than 200 attendees in the last eight years.
David Archard, LMK Technologies
David Archard is managing director of northeast sales for LMK Technologies. He has nearly 30 years of practical experience in the municipal public works sector. He has worked as a public official and a consultant focused on assisting municipalities in managing and optimizing their public works assets, with a focus on underground asset management/optimization projects. Prior to joining LMK, he served as the director of consulting services for Veolia Water North America. David serves as a member of the Government Affairs Committee for the New England Water Environment Association. He is also an active member of the American Public Works Association, New England Chapter, New England Water Works Association, New York Water Environment Association, New Jersey Water Environment Association, U.S. Conference of Mayors and the National League of Cities.
Don Del Nero, Stantec
Don Del Nero, P.E., C.D.T., is tunnel practice leader at Stantec. He has over 23 years of experience including planning, studies, design and construction management in the areas of tunnel and trenchless engineering. Don obtained his MS in Geotechnical Engineering from Syracuse University and his BS in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University. His project experience covers over 50 projects with over 40 miles of tunnel and trenchless installations worth over $1.3 billion in construction value.
Dennis Doherty, Haley & Aldrich
Dennis Doherty, P.E., F.ASCE, is a senior trenchless technology engineer with Haley & Aldrich. Doherty is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a recognized leader in trenchless technology, with a passion for underground infrastructure asset management for public agencies and private utility companies. His new installation experience using trenchless technology includes pipe bursting, microtunneling (including in-line microtunneling), auger boring, pipe jacking, pilot tube method and horizontal directional drilling. He is highly experienced in design of microtunneling, HDD, auger-bore, CIPP lining, pipe bursting and manhole rehabilitation methods. He has served as technical advisor on complicated underground utility projects requiring technical memoranda for policy makers and decision makers.
Glenn Duyvestyn, Hatch Mott MacDonald
Glenn Duyvestyn, Ph.D., P.E., is senior project engineer & trenchless specialist with HMM. He has 14 years of professional civil engineering experience and has focused his educational and professional career on trenchless technologies. He has been involved with horizontal directional drilling, microtunneling, direct pipe, auger boring, open shield pipe jacking, tunneling, and pipe rehabilitation (condition assessments, CIPP, spot repairs, sliplining, pipe bursting, etc.) projects at various capacities. His design experience include over 120,000 ft of HDD and 65,000 ft of tunneling, microtunneling, direct pipe, open shield pipe jacking, and auger boring installations. He is experienced in performing feasibility studies, design services including trenchless design calculations, geotechnical evaluation, risk assessments, cost estimation, value engineering, constructability workshops, claim review, contractor pre-determination qualification, bid services, and construction management.
Ron Glive, Sanexen Environmental Services
Ron Glive is director of Business Development for Sanexen Inc. (Aqua-Pipe division) and has more than 27 years of practical experience in both the utilities and industrial manufacturing sectors. He has countless miles of business development experience throughout the Americas as well as in Europe and Asia. Over the years, Ron has proven to be a formidable member of several Product Development Teams which in turn have produced and released numerous new products to the market. He has participated in every phase of the PDP, from the design stages, right through to launch and field roll-outs. No doubt that this experience has proven to be invaluable for Ron as he takes on the daunting task of introducing Aqua-Pipe structural lining to the world.
Lee Haessig, Cretex Specialty Products
Lee Haessig is general manager of Cretex Specialty Products. He has been in the underground utility construction industry for more than 30 years. More than 20 of those years have been with Cretex Specialty Products, a manufacturer of mechanical seals used in the prevention and elimination of manhole I/I. He has nine years of experience as a multi-state regional territory manager, two years as the Wisconsin salesman and eight years as Warehouse Manager and Sales Coordinator. He is NASSCO PACP/MACP certified and active within many industry organizations.
Steve Henning, IPR
Steve Henning is technical director of IPR. Steve brings 25 years of environmental and rehabilitation technology applications experience to the table. As technical director for IPR, he is responsible for the ongoing development and refinement of EcoCast. Steve is also the primary author of several ASTM standards, most notably F 2304-03, F 2414-04, and F 2551-09. He is a current board member of the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO), and a NASSCO certified trainer for PACP, MACP and LACP. Henning received his bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene and Safety in 1993 and a master’s in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene and Safety in 1997, both from the University of Houston, Clearlake.
Mike Hogan, Dukes Root Control
Mike Hogan is the president of Duke’s Root Control and has been with the firm since 1987. Mike was educated at the State College of Florida and has a degree in Business Administration. He is currently an active participant in several industry association including APWA, WEF, NASTT and NASSCO, where he served as president of the association in 2002. His firm, Duke’s Root Control, is the largest, oldest and most experienced sewer root control application company in the world with a proud history dating back to 1948. Today, Duke’s Root Control is a national full-service sewer line chemical root control contractor operating in all 50 states. With a fleet consisting of 32 chemical application rigs, Duke’s has treated over 200 million ft of sewer lines and specializes in administering programs designed to eliminate sanitary sewer spills and back-ups as a result of problematic tree-root infestation.
Tom Iseley, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)
Dr. Tom Iseley has more than 35 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of underground infrastructure systems. In 1989, Dr. Iseley established the Trenchless Technology Center (TTC), an industry/university cooperative research facility at Louisiana Tech University and served as director for over five years. He is a founding director of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) and served for 3 years as the chairman of the National Utility Contractors Association’s (NUCA) Trenchless Technology Committee. In 1993, Dr. Iseley was selected as the Trenchless Technology magazine’s Person of the Year. He received the ASCE 1995 John O. Bickel Award and the 1999 Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award. Dr. Iseley holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, a M.B.A. degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
Bradley King, Underground Solutions, Inc.
Bradley S. King is the manager of construction services for Underground Solutions, Inc., providing product, project and installation consultation. Underground Solutions provides infrastructure technologies for water, sewer and conduit applications. Brad has a bachelor’s in Construction Engineering Technology from Missouri Western State University, with an emphasis on construction management and trenchless technologies. Brad has also worked as a construction manager for A&L Underground, a Kansas-based HDD company, where he worked in the natural gas, water and environmental well remediation industries. His extensive installation and management experience in HDD, tunneling, sliplining, and pipe bursting is well known in the United States trenchless industry and academic institutions. His experience has included many different piping products including Fusible PVC, HDPE, Steel, and Ductile Iron to name a few.
Bernie Krzys, Benjamin Media, Inc.
Bernard P. Krzys is the founder of Benjamin Media Inc., publishers of Trenchless Technology, Compact Equipment, NASTT’s Trenchless Today, North American Oil & Gas Pipelines, Solar Builder, TBM: Tunnel Business Magazine, Utility Contractor and Water Utility Infrastructure Management (UIM). Bernie’s media background spans more than 20 years and he has served on various boards of directors including an off-shore product liability insurance company, a $100 million utility contractor, NASTT, NUCA, the Trenchless Technology Center, the Centre for the Advancement of Trenchless Technology and a predecessor association to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. He has received an Industry Achievement Award from the Power & Communication Contractors Association, was the 2005 Associate Member of the Year for the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), and has received the Chairman’s Award from the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT). In 2012, Bernie was among the inaugural class of NASTT’s Hall of Fame.
Peter Masters, Geographical Survey Systems, Inc.
Peter Masters is an application specialist with Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. (GSSI) of Salem, New Hampshire, a manufacturer of ground penetrating radar. Peter has been with GSSI for eight years and provides application sales and support to a variety of clients in the utility and structural engineering markets.
Irene McSweeney, Boston Water & Sewer Commission
Irene McSweeney is the director of construction at the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. As the director, she oversees the Commission’s annual Capital Improvement Program, which replaces or rehabilitates approximately $50 million of the Commission’s infrastructure. McSweeney has a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a master’s in environmental engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She is a MA Professional Engineer and a Certified Water Operator Grade 4D.
Chad Miller, Source One Environmental
Chad Miller is business development manager for Source One Environmental. He brings more than 13 years of hands-on and technical experience to the construction field. Chad started his construction background in excavation where he was responsible for pipe laying, foundations, site layout and operating equipment. Prior to S1E, Chad was the Eastern U.S. Sales Manager at Fernco, Inc. There, he was responsible for new product development sales, specifications and training on the PipePatch Point Repair System. Miller’s current responsibilities are managing Eastern U.S. sales, education and training. Chad is a member of WEF, APWA, Rural Water, PMAA and sits on the Michigan Water Environmental Association’s Collection Committee.
Tom Perry is director of marketing for Multi Utilities Ventures. Multi Utilities Ventures works closely with consulting engineers, government agencies and contractors in the selection and design of trenchless technologies used in rehabilitation of the infrastructure. Tom has 15 years of experience in trenchless construction and marketing in the Northeast.
Brandon Sjulin, Mladen Buntich Construction Co.
Brandon Sjulin is the director of business development for Mladen Buntich Construction Co. He received his degree in construction management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and held numerous leadership roles while working for Kiewit for over 8 years. He was instrumental in getting Kiewit into the rehabilitation market the last three years and has a diverse background in project delivery methods, water/wastewater infrastructure experience and he has been a part of building some of the most challenging utility rehabilitation projects in North America. Matt Timberlake, Ted Berry Co.
Matt Timberlake is vice president of the family owned and operated Ted Berry Company Inc., a third-generation company founded by Matt’s grandfather, Ted Berry, in 1972. The company is responsible for the daily operation, profit and loss, and management of four service groups and nearly 50 employees including administrative, operations managers, field staff and maintenance personnel. Matt prides himself on being a hands-on owner/manager and works closely with his father and business partner Jim Timberlake. Matt is a past president of the Northeast Trenchless Association (NTA, 2010) Founders Award recipient (2013). He is vice chair of the International Pipe Bursting Association (IPBA, 2013-present) and Leadership Team (2009-present), chair of the Public Relations Committee for Maine Waste Water Control Association (MWWCA) and a member of the Board of Directors for AGC Maine (2013-present).
